3x3 Basketball Returns to Downtown Winnipeg at The Weekender Festival
Peg City Basketball is excited to announce the return of outdoor 3x3 basketball to downtown Winnipeg as part of The Weekender, the city's newest flagship street festival.
Hosted along the Graham Avenue pedestrian corridor, the Weekender 3x3 Urban Challenge is an official FIBA 3x3 tournament featuring youth, adult, open, and wheelchair basketball divisions. The tournament will bring athletes from across Manitoba together to compete in a vibrant outdoor setting surrounded by one of Winnipeg's most exciting new community festivals.
Building on the legacy of ManyFest, The Weekender marks a new chapter for downtown festivals while continuing the tradition of bringing people together through sport, entertainment, food, and community.

The Weekender is a free three-day festival produced by Downtown Winnipeg BIZ, Smith Events, and Archevents—the team behind the beloved ManyFest.

- Food Truck Wars
- Artisan Market
- Live music and entertainment
- Family programming
- Midway attractions
- Local vendors and interactive experiences
- The Weekender 3x3 Urban Challenge
By relocating to the Graham Avenue pedestrian corridor, The Weekender is designed to create an energetic and walkable downtown destination that supports local businesses while showcasing the best of Winnipeg.
As part of the festival, Peg City Basketball is working to create a true urban basketball experience with multiple outdoor courts, music throughout the venue, and additional basketball culture elements that will make this a memorable weekend for both players and spectators.
An Official FIBA 3x3 Tournament
The Weekender 3x3 Urban Challenge is an official FIBA 3x3 tournament, giving players the opportunity to compete in internationally recognized competition and earn official FIBA 3x3 ranking points.
Tournament divisions include:
- Youth Divisions
- Community Adult Divisions
- Open Men's Division
- Open Women's Division
- Wheelchair Basketball
Whether you're an experienced 3x3 player or entering your first tournament, the Weekender 3x3 Urban Challenge offers a unique opportunity to compete in a downtown festival atmosphere unlike any other event in Manitoba.
